Personal Injury Attorney

Law Firm of Mark S. Hanchey is a Defense Attorney for Personal Injury

If you have been hurt in an automobile accident it can be one of the most overwhelming experiences of your life. An accident can leave you more than just shaken up. It can compromise your ability to work and provide for your family. It can leave you without a means of transportation, which in our society is an absolute necessity. It can leave you with staggering medical bills. It can leave you with constant, debilitating physical pain as well as emotional scars that often take years to heal.

You do not have to face this alone. The insurance company which represents the person who caused the accident does not care about any of the shattering consequences which you have suffered due to the negligence of their client. Those insurance companies care about one thing, profit for their shareholders. The simplest way which they can increase their bottom line is by denying those who have been harmed a fair and reasonable settlement. Without an attorney to help you, you almost certainly will not receive fair treatment at the hands of the insurance industry.

The good news is that hiring a lawyer is the first and simplest step in protecting your right to be fairly compensated and made whole. Your lawyer can help you get your car repaired or replaced. Your lawyer can help you get medically treated so that you can get back on your feet and ultimately back to work. Your lawyer can help get you reimbursed for lost wages which the accident has cost you and, in turn, your family. Your lawyer can also force the insurance company to reimburse you for the injuries which you suffered, the medical bills and expenses which you have incurred, and the pain and suffering which has shattered your life. Perhaps just as importantly your attorney can give you back your peace of mind. The peace of mind which comes from knowing that you have an effective and aggressive advocate in your corner.

Your lawyer does these things without any upfront payment from you whatsoever. Instead, once you receive a fair settlement or you win at Trial, only then does your lawyer receive any compensation for his or her work. Personal Injury lawyers play a vital role in our society because ordinary citizens simply cannot fight the billion dollar insurance industry on their own. Let us help even the odds in your favor. Our pledge for almost 25 years has been to aggressively represent clients and ensure that they are treated fairly and with the dignity that they deserve.

A Personal Message from Mark Hanchey Regarding Your Personal Injury Case

There is an old saying that “if you have your health you have everything”. It’s human nature to take for granted our ability to work, to enjoy spending time with our family and friends, or to simply enjoy the beautiful Colorado outdoors. Unfortunately, in 2014 almost 2 ½ million Americans were injured in car accidents. Coloradans are injured in car accidents at a rate of almost 4000 a year. Sadly, in 2014 there were 441 deaths on our roads in Colorado.

Nationally, there are on average about 16 million automobile accidents every year. That means that about one out of every 20 Americans are involved in a car accident every 12 months. About 32,000 Americans are killed on our roads every year. To put that figure in perspective, in 1950 there were 30,186 deaths on American highways. In 1950, Seat Belt Laws were not universally in effect (many models didn’t even come with safety belts as standard equipment), the engineer who would eventually invent Air Bags was 8 years old, the interior of cars were filled with sharp edges and metal surfaces, and our driving population was less than half of what it is today. We like to think that our roads have since gotten safer and in many ways they have. Cars themselves are safer with seat belts and airbags, roads and highways are safer than when our grandparents went to dinner and a picture show, and Law Enforcement is much better at enforcing DUI Laws. But cell phones, text messaging, smaller cars, and the simple fact that Americans are driving far more than in years past all have combined to create a roadscape that is just as dangerous today as it was during the Eisenhower Administration.

In Colorado we have our own challenges involving difficult driving weather, wide open spaces which translate to higher speed and much more serious accidents, urban areas which translate to much higher volume of traffic, even a younger driving population due to our demographics all play a part in making Colorado a statistically dangerous place to get behind the wheel. Tragically, DUI fatalities and injuries caused by those who drive impaired or under the influence of drugs and alcohol continue to plague our state which had 508 DUI related injury crashes in 2014. The recent advent of legalized marijuana is also a factor which some experts fear may drive these numbers even higher.

Thousands of Coloradans every year lose that greatest of blessings - good health – because of an automobile accident. If you are one of our neighbors who have been harmed by the negligence of someone on our roads, you don’t have to go through this by yourself. We would be honored if you would allow us to help you take that first step in putting your life back together. As we have for over twenty five years, we will be there when you need us.

On behalf of myself and my staff I am very sincerely yours, Mark S. Hanchey
